Bakkerij Noordhof in Oldekerk krijgt ‘opvolging’
OLDEKERK – Na 51 jaar vol passie brood, koek en banket te hebben gebakken, heeft bakker Huike Noordhof besloten om per 15 december 2018 te stoppen: ‘We stoppen niet om gezondheidsredenen, we zijn nog gezond en dan is het goed om te zeggen: “Het is mooi geweest”.’ Naar ieders verwachting betekent dit niet alleen de sluiting van de bakkerij, maar ook van de laatste winkel in Oldekerk. Het tegendeel is echter waar: er blijft een bakkerswinkel bestaan in Oldekerk!
Toen Bakker Noordhof samen met zijn vrouw Ria besloot dat het binnen nu en een niet al te lange periode wel eens tijd zou worden om te stoppen, was de hoop natuurlijk gevestigd op een jonge bakker die de bakkerij met winkel zou willen overnemen. Deze liet echter op zich wachten en tot voor kort liep het bakkersechtpaar – en met hen vele dorpelingen – rond met gevoelens van spijt. Het feit dat de bakkerij definitief zou moeten gaan sluiten en dat daarmee ook een einde zou komen aan de laatste winkel in Oldekerk, werd beschouwd als een gemis voor het dorp. Toen er op een zonnige septemberochtend twee enthousiaste dames – Diane van Beusekom en Jildou Renkema – bij Noordhof aanbelden met de aankondiging ‘wel brood te zien’ in het overnemen van de bakkerswinkel, was de verbazing dan ook groot. Na diverse gesprekken is overeengekomen dat zij de bakkerswinkel kunnen voortzetten in het huidige pand. Er zal wederom vers bakkersbrood, koek en banket verkrijgbaar zijn. In december zullen Jildou en Diane zo nu en dan in de winkel te vinden zijn om alvast even handigheid te krijgen in het draaien van de winkel. De winkel zal vanaf 15 december twee weken gesloten zijn om een metamorfose te kunnen ondergaan. In het begin van het nieuwe jaar zal de winkel met een feestelijke opening van start gaan.
